The Mental Cost of Entrepreneurship 2.png

According to a study conducted by the University of California, nearly 49% of entrepreneurs experience a mental illness.

The Mental Cost of Entrepreneurship was coined by Psychotherapist, Talk Show Host, and Entrepreneur Shanna A. Jefferson to raise awareness of the importance of mental health for entrepreneurs and challenging them to take a holistic approach to entrepreneurship.

What is The Mental Cost of Entrepreneurship?

The mental cost of entrepreneurship can be incredibly high at times. Being an entrepreneur requires a great deal of resilience, dedication, and self-discipline. The stress of managing a business and making important decisions can be overwhelming. Additionally, the uncertainty of income and the pressure to succeed can be very taxing on the mental health of an entrepreneur. It's important to remember to take breaks and seek support from friends, family, and professionals when needed.

What mental health challenges do entrepreneurs face?

Entrepreneurs often face a number of mental health challenges due to the stress associated with starting and running a business. These challenges can include feelings of burnout, anxiety, depression, and difficulty balancing work and personal life. Additionally, entrepreneurs may have difficulty dealing with the financial insecurity that comes with running a business, and the pressure and uncertainty of making important decisions. It is important for entrepreneurs to take time for self-care and recognize when they need to seek professional help to address any mental health challenges they may be facing.

As a Business Leader, Professional, or Entrepreneur the challenges may have contributed to you not feeling like yourself or perhaps your business performance has diminished.
