Introduce yourself.
I am Shanna A. Jefferson. I hail from Allendale, SC graduating in 2002 from Allendale-Fairfax High School. Upon graduation, I matriculated to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill earning my Bachelors of Public Policy and Master of Social Work degrees. Currently, I am a Doctor of Social Work candidate.
Professionally, I am a Life Coach, Author, Speaker, Psychotherapist, and Talk Show Host. My life motto is “For to whom much is given, of him much shall be required”. With that being said, my primary passion and purpose in life is to serve as an agent of change. I haven’t been fed with a silver spoon in the traditional sense of the saying. However, I’ve been blessed with the silver spoon filled with grace, gratitude, humility, integrity, faith, service, divine connections, and the spirit of greatness.
Why did you pursue entrepreneurship?
I’ve always been an entrepreneur primarily stemming from the hustler mentality embedded in me by my Father, Mr. George M. Jefferson. Upon retiring as an educator following 33 years of service, my Father hustled to support his family. He became the watermelon man, tapeman, peachman…you name it! I have vivid memories of essentially going door to door with my Father as he got his hustle on. Furthermore, my greatest lessons and values in life stem from my humble upbringing.
What nuggets of greatness would you share with aspiring and emerging entrepreneurs?
The power of believing in you, having faith, demonstrating perseverance, never giving up, stepping out of your comfort zone, and giving credit to the Most High is life-changing.
What is next for you and your brand in 2020? The remaining months of 2020 will be filled with new ventures, opportunities, and blessings! In spite of what has transpired thus far in 2020, I decree and declare that 2020 is my year of divine vision which will propel me forward.
My mental health agency, Destination Greatness, has fully expanded our online services to all residents of GA, SC, and NC. With this expansion, clients will have the opportunity to receive mental wellness support from the comforts of their home.
In addition, I am excited to expand my product and service offerings for entrepreneurs with the Visions of Greatness platform!
