Today, we introduce you to the CEO of the New Mindz Mentorship Program, Shamek'o Barren.

What do you believe are the biggest mental health challenges facing entrepreneurs today?

The biggest mental health challenges that entrepreneurs face is anxiety and stress.

Although becoming a business owner is a very rewarding thing , it can be a very stressful thing. Most entrepreneurs are working alone because they are not currently making the income to hire help. Entrepreneurs also feel pressured to keep up with the "Jones's" AKA other entrepreneurs.

Social Media can be a trigger to entrepreneurs that they are not doing enough or they have to be doing something everyday. The pressure to keep up with others and this hustle culture leads to burnout. If you are burnt out you can't be productive.

How can entrepreneurs recognize and address these challenges?

Entrepreneurs can avoid these challenges by doing more self-check-ins and knowing when to rest. They need to know it's okay to take a break. As an entrepreneur it is important that you understand that everyone's capacity is different. As an entrepreneur , I am a huge advocate for rest and restoration. Every business owner should set boundaries when running a business. You don't have to attend every networking event, you don't have to launch all your ideas at one time, and you don't have to prove anything to anyone. It's also important that business owners surround themselves with friends that are not in business. Having friends outside of business creates balance and life outside of stressing about

business.
